У США, як і в багатьох інших країнах, бібліотеки невтомно працюють над тим, щоб демократичні цінності не залишалися лише словами на папері, а втілювалися в життя людей.

Це особливо важливо у світі «постправди», де демократія перебуває під загрозою. Бібліотеки допомагають людям не збиватися з курсу, надають вільний доступ до надійної інформації та допомагають протидіяти дезінформації.

Ми надсилаємо найтепліші вітання нашим американським колегам і дякуємо їм за постійну підтримку України в цей складний час війни, коли Україна бореться за свою незалежність і демократію!

Today, we congratulate the American people on this momentous occasion—the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence!

In the U.S., as in many other countries, libraries  tirelessly to ensure that democratic values are more than just words on paper; they are put into practice in people’s lives. 

This is especially important in a post-truth world where democracy is under threat. Libraries help people stay on course by providing free access to reliable information and countering disinformation. 

We extend our warmest greetings to our American colleagues and thank them for their continued support of Ukraine during this difficult time of war as Ukraine fights for its independence and democracy.
